1 More Rep has established themselves as one of the leaders in the sports performance space on Long Island. I personally trusted them enough to spend two months training there this winter and I noticed their growing list of parents that trusted them with their sons and daughters who are athletes.

Recently they announced their partnership with The Schwarz Institute of Long Island to further enhance what they offer for their athletes.

Chris Manno is the owner and operator of 1MR and here’s what he had to say:

“1 More Rep is beyond excited to announce our partnership with an elite sports science & rehab facility like TSI. We feel it was the only piece missing from us being able to provide our athletes with a complete 360 degree program geared towards enhancing performance, body prep, recovery and so much more. This partnership adds a new dimension to 1MR, and takes us, and what we can provide to all of our athletes – youth to professional to a much different level,” said Manno.

For those unfamiliar, the DARI Motion analysis is at the cutting edge of preventative care in the athletic space. It is the world’s only FDA cleared marker-less motion analysis that delivers validated 3D kinematic motion analysis. The DARI system analyzes movement at each joint to identify asymmetries, imbalances, kinetic deficiencies, injury risk and compensation patterns. The DARI motion analysis allows them to pick on small inefficiencies in movement that the naked eye cannot sea. Athletes go through a series of functional and sport specific movements that takes under 10 minutes. Their diagnostic team at TSI composed of Dr. Bill Schwarz and Dr. Michael Vaiano, then breaks down the data to determine where athletes can improve performance and prevent injuries like UCL and ACL tears. DARI can also be utilized for return to sport testing for athletes coming off an injury. They are able to obtain objective data on force production, landing mechanics and proprioception to determine if an athlete is ready to return to sport.

Dr. Vaiano stated: “More specific to baseball, we are using the DARI to help combat the rising number of baseball players undergoing Tommy John Surgery. By correcting faulty movement patterns like decreased thoracic rotation or decreased hip mobility we are able to take stress off the elbow throughout the throwing motion. We are also able to pick up on inefficiencies in a pitcher’s mechanics that may lead to an increase in velocity and spin rate. The DARI motion analysis allows us to pick up on small inefficiencies in movement that the naked eye cannot see. “

He went on to add, “TSI chose to team up with 1MR to provide their athletes with motion analysis to help guide their training programs. The DARI motion analysis can provide the trainers from 1MR with a blueprint on how to improve their athlete’s performance as well as keep them on the field. We are then able to retest the athletes to track the progress they are making throughout their program. 1MR is at the forefront of sports performance training with top-notch trainers that will be able to utilize data from DARI analysis to get athletes to the next level. The combination of expertise in strength training from Chris Manno and sports diagnostics from Dr. Michael Vaiano is going to change the change for athletes.”
